Chances are if you are even considering a trip to Cuba, you've done a little research into local customs, culture, and of course, the food. As with any vacation, exotic Cuba brings with it many wonders which will remain in your travel memory for years to come. But if you’re hoping to bring home a little reminder of your time there, consider the sultry scent of tropical flowers. No, not the actual flowers but Mariposa Eau de Toilette.

Hedychium coronarium is the national flower of Cuba. Originating in Asia, this hardy large-leafed plant, which resembles Birds of Paradise and heliconias in its foliage and is often called white ginger, is decked with delicate white flowers, and can be found throughout the tropical regions of the world from Hawaii to Polynesia, Asia, and throughout the Caribbean. In some regions, it is a noxious weed endangering native plants. In other areas of the world, it is a prized plant representing the beauty and intoxicating feeling of the tropics. It's perfume is a bright lemon-ginger scent which truly captures the tropics.

If perfume isn’t your idea of a sourvenir, consider sugar, coffee, rum, and cigars. The sweet, savory, and smoky culinary delights of Cuba are bountiful. According to a 2015 PBS News Hour post, "In December (2014), when President Barack Obama announced plans to reestablish diplomatic ties with Cuba, he said Americans can now bring home $400 worth of goods from Cuba, including $100 of tobacco and alcohol products combined." This means you should plan to leave plenty of room in your savvy travel cases for all kinds of goodies from your trip to Cuba.
